You get Gamer title points by beating other opponents, therefore you can't afk.

Chthon's Rather Late Mini-Guide to Farming Festival Feast Ingredients:
I apologize for the extreme lateness of this guide. I had intended to write it some 18 hours ago, but real life has continually gotten in the way this weekend. Oh well. Perhaps it will be more useful for next year. (RTS, you may certainly republish this for future years if you see fit.)
Disclaimer: I'm not sure if these are the best or fastest ways to farm these items. They're just the best ways I could think of. Feel free to suggest improvements.
It seems like you only need 1 of each ingredient to make the dishes. However, the chefs will accept multiples and give you tokens for them.
Chef Yan:
Iridescent Griffon Wings
Difficulty: 2/5
Location: Exit Augury Rock to the north, swing around south of Augury rock, avoiding the Hyrdas, farm the griffons in the classic griffon spot.
Method: Any solo farm build. Stoneflesh is pretty fast.
Tangled Seeds
Difficulty: 1/5
Location: Outside Druid's Overlook
Method: Solo Obsidian farm thorn stalker sprouts.
Other: Do Ebon Spider Legs at same time.
Fiery Crests
Difficulty: 2/5
Location A: In the Ring of Fire mission just past the Mursaat Tower.
Method A: Do it on your way to farm the lava spitters.
Location B: Perdition Rock, north of the rez shrine. Wait for the patrol circling the nearby lava pit to go by, head north, take out a couple dryder patrols, then turn right to take the path that tunnels underneath and pops up on the north side of the island filled with drakes.
Method B: Balanced teams, shunk as far as you are comfortable, tend to be fastest. Soloing is difficult because of the dryders, hyrdas, flesh golems, and phantoms that can be in the way.
Smoking Remains
Difficulty: 5/5
Location A: Ring of Fire Mission, just after the Mursaat Tower.
Method A: Kill the 4 nightmares on your way to farm the lava spitters.
Location B: Ring of Fire Mission, northwest of the starting point, near where Brechnar dies. Follow Brechnar and the Mursaat chasing him. After the Mursaat move on, move into the cul-de-sac west of where they were to find two nightmares. Be careful not to get too close and trigger the nightmares before the Mursaat leave, since they are hostile to them, and you get no drops if the Mursaat kill them.
Method B: Solo warrior farm.
Chef Ruen:
Alpine Seeds
Difficulty: 1/5
Location: Traveler's Vale
Method: Wander around solo Obsidian farming.
Other: Do icy loadstones at the same time.
Guardian Moss
Difficulty: 12/5 (I'm not kidding!)
Location A: Immediately south of Erredon Terrace.
Location B: One east-southeast of Bai Paasu Reach, then cross the ridge to the south and go back west for a second south of the mountain south of Bai Paasu, then further west for a third if you can pull it away from Seacrash (or kill him).
Location C: Scourgewind, immediately south of Leviathan Pits. (Chance for double drop.)
Location D: Soulwhisper, short, no combat run north of Leviathan Pits. (Chance for double drop.)
Method: Splinter/barrage farming works well thanks to the wallows that always accompany the island guardians. The Erredon Terrace one can be solo or duo (ranger + monk) farmed easily thanks to the shrine NPC's. The others can be duo farmed, but I find 4-man (ranger, 2x monk, curse necro) to be more than twice as fast (and therefore more profitable).
Celestial Essence
Difficulty: 3/5
Location: Naphui Quater Mission
Method: Use a balanced team (less than 8 if you can) and do the mission.
Dragon Root
Difficulty: 2/5
Location: South of Vasburg Armory
Method: Solo stoneflesh farm the Scar Eater and some of the surrounding plant mobs.
Chef Jiong:
Archaic Kappa Shells
Difficulty: 1/5
Location: Immediately north of Gyala Hatchery.
Method: Solo obsidian farm the multiple mobs of kappa.
Mantis Pincers
Difficulty: 3/5
Location: Melandru's hope, leave from Lutgardis Conservatory.
Method: Solo obsidian farm mantises. Work your way down to the water east of Chkkr Locust Lord, then work your way back to him. If you run into mantis menders that are out-healing your damage, aggro more mantises to increase the damage from sliver armor.
Kraken Eyes
Difficulty: 2/5
Location: North of Zos Shivros Channel. There's several mobs of just krackens.
Method: Solo obsidian farm. Be careful to avoid the naga.
Naga Hides
Difficulty: 1/5
Location: Panjiang Pennisula
Method: You'll get more than you need just doing the festival quest "Just My Luck" on a couple of characters.
Chef Chen:
Igneous Spider Legs
Difficulty: 4/5
Location: Ring of Fire Mission, along the Vizier's "back way in."
Method: Bring a balanced team (less than 8 if you can manage) and do the mission up through that point... repeatedly.
Other: Do ebon spider webs at the same time. Do fiery crests and smoking remains on the way there.
Ebon Spider Legs
Difficulty: 1/5
Location: Outside Druid's Outlook.
Method: Solo obsidian farm maguuma spiders.
Other: Do tangled seeds at the same time.
Bonesnap Shells
Difficulty: 1/5
Location: Immediately north of Zen Daijun
Method: Solo warrior farm.
Azure Crests
Difficulty: 3/5
Location: Silent Surf, enter from Unwaking Waters (Luxon), start with Miella Lightbringer's group, and work your way north through Sourbeak and Kenrii Sea Sorrow, killing dragons as you find them.
Method: Balanced group.
Unctuous Remains
Difficulty: 3/5
Location: Perdition Rock. Wait by the rez shrine for the patrol circling the lava pit to move by, then head north, turn west and attack the tower, then head south from the tower, kill the 3 jade bows, and you should find a huge number of phantoms to the south.
Method: Balanced team. (Probably could be soloed if there was a fast way to get past the tower.)
Chef Tian:
Truffles
Difficulty: 4/5
Location: Melandru's Hope. Leave from Brauer Academy. As you fight the first mob, a wallow/gatherer pair should wander close enough to aggro. Take the narrow southernmost path to your right. Right before the path opens up into the large open area, there should be a wallow/gatherer pair. Using a run speed boost, head almost straight north to aggro Rot Foulbelly's group, plus two wallow/gatherer pairs simultaneously. Head northeast towards the group of 3 dredge and kill them; you can pick up Foulbelly's group as it patrols by here if you missed it earlier. Now head northwest with a run speed boost, thread between the two dredge mobs to aggro 4 wallow/gatherer pairs simultaneously. (I believe that's all the wallows in Mel's Hope.)
Method: Balanced group. Need a run speed boost to catch multiple patrols when they are in the same spot at the same time.
Ebon Spider Webs
Difficulty: 5/5 (same monsters as igneous spider legs, but rarer drop.)
Location: Ring of Fire Mission, along the Vizier's "back way in."
Method: Bring a balanced team (less than 8 if you can manage) and do the mission up through that point... repeatedly.
Other: Do igneous spider legs at the same time. Do fiery crests and smoking remains on the way there.
Half-Eaten Blobs
Difficulty: 2/5
Location: Leave from Fisherman's Haven. Clear out skale groups around Stingray Sand, then head North into Tears of the Fallen.
Method: Solo obsidian farm.
Other: The bog skale fins you will doubtlessly find are needed for the black moa chick minipet.
Azure Remains
Difficulty: 3/5
Location: Immediately south of Camp Rankor
Method: Solo obsidian farm azure shadows. Make sure to bring ward of stability to deal with their knockdown.
Icy Loadstones
Difficulty: 1/5
Location: Traveler's Vale
Method: Wander around solo obsidian farming everything.
Other: Do alpine seeds at the same time.
--------------------------------------------
On a somewhat related note: One of my guildies burned through nearly all of the spare ingredients for the two chefs he was in charge of instead of giving them just 1 of each, so I have a 3/5-complete set of ingredients to give away. Sign up in this thread if you want it. First found in-game, first served.

I've read on this page of GWiki something strange about the end of the event.
Indeed, it's written that "the event is espected to end officially on Monday, February 11th, Noon PST (20:00 GMT), but it really will end on Monday, February 11th, 5:00 PM PST (Tuesday, February 12th, 01:00 GMT). "
Have you heard of that?
Thank you.

She did say at the event where she joined the DVDF feast (8pm GMT, eu59) that there was party animal related thing yet to come... (correct me if I'm wrong -- no, not a direct quote, but it sure was something cryptic )

There was a "Party Time" condition found in the dat file... I had expected this to be active during the fireworks of each event, but from what I can gather from the gaile/frog hints, it will only be active for the final event... which is going to be at 5am my time

Well, i must say i was not so happy at all to see the final prize as firework boxes to be used in guild walls...trully i was more happy if they give us another "Normal mini rat" instead of that! And the gift of a exactly same mask as the last one is quite lame IMO.
I must also wish to present my total desapoint about how difficult was to get a celestial rat!! I have used near 300 and i got one...but many others have used much more then me (in some cases more then 1k of rat tickets) and not a single one showed up! This is quite unfair for a event that is a "rat celebration"! Shame on the devs that programed the changes in this way.
Also the red bags & the firework boxes as the only rewards for the cook's meals, is not enought to make people to work hard on get the ingredients!! And that was very well confirmated in the festival! I was present in all the rat visits, and in none of them we get the 5 dishes! Last year people have worked much harder to get the pig! This year, at the least for me ,because was my reality, the cook's trial was a total disaster.

Well, seems you were in the wrong districts.
My guild got enough ingredients for EVERY event. We hosted ID 10, just like many other guilds who hosted many districts..

Does anyone know if their is a way to exchange Lunar Tokens? I was not aware that the rewards NPCs were going to be pulled today at 3pm EST so I've still got 120.

Thanks for the great guide as always RTS - my guildies and I saw you in Shing Jea a few times.
Also we were in quite a few districts that were hosted and they had all the ingredients. Was even posted in the "Search" feature if you checked as many who were hosting posted in there.
Have to say though our favorite part as a guild was actually finding a district that failed them all and getting to be rats - though that was WAY too short. I think I got a good screen shot tho.... have not check yet. ;P
Edit: Just checked - got two really good screenies ;D
= As for the party animal stuff - I hear there will be something like a double point weekend or something like that.
= Lunar tokens you'd have to hold until the next one I'd think unluckily.....

so hey, is the collector for the pigs gone? I missed her, haven't been around. I think they should keep this collector for a few more days.
I just want to sell my 3 piggies.

Yeah, the collectors, along with nearly every other festival NPC, left at 12 PM PST on Monday.
Also, if I haven't said it already, thank you VERY much for the guide, RTSF. Very convenient to just link to this when friends asked about the event.

So I'm really annoyed they pulled the NPCs so early. The wintersday NPCs were around for like a week after the event ended it seems. They really ought to have kept them for at least 24hrs after the event ended, so people could finish turning in their tokens and pigs. I had school today until 5pm pacific time and so was not able to turn anything in. What am I supposed to do, keep the tokens for another year?
I have noticed that the rollerbeetle race NPC is still there, which makes me even more irritated. How come the racers can keep getting their rewards, and the people who collected tokens can't? That's not fair.

You can't race any more. The NPC is there to access the outpost so that top placers can pick up their prizes from Little Jack (and if you want you can go look at the top scores). Hitting Enter Mission just grays out the button and nothing else happens...

That's what I was talking about though. I know the racers can't race anymore, but they can still pick up any rewards that they earned, while the people who collected tokens/have pigs to trade in can't.
Also, it wasn't announced that the NPCs would be disappearing immediately either. I just assumed that they would be around for another day like they normally are. I'm sure I'm only one of many people who have worthless tokens hanging out in their inventory now.
I'm usually pretty supportive of ANet in general, but I think they *seriously* F***ed up this event.
